General Description
Crystalline sodium chloride, commonly known as vacuum salt, is produced by evaporative crystallisation. The energy source for the evaporation can be thermal energy resulting in various plant configurations, specifically Multiple Effect Evaporation (MEE), Thermal Vapour Recompression (TVR) or Mechanical Vapour Recompression (MVR). All three plant configurations can generate high quality product and condensate.
